From March 2012 to January 2013 I provided some illustrations for a company called MyJennyBook. MyJennyBook puts the child reader in the role of the protagonist as they go on wondrous adventures and learn valuable life lessons along the way. In March of that year I was assigned to illustrate My Big Move and First Day at a New School by the franchise’s CEO Jennifer Betit-Yen. It turned out that she liked my art so much that she hired me to work on several other books such as Me and My Robot, The MyJennyABC Book, and Hello, World! I’m a New Baby. For each book I tried to incorporate a different art style to make them stand out.
This was the first MyJennyBook project I have ever worked on. I began work on it in March 2012 and the story deals with the pressure of moving to a new place and having to go to a new school. Check out the gallery to see some illustrations of My Big Move and First Day At a New School.
This was the second MyJennyBook I worked on. I first started this project in May 2012 and it tells the story of a child building a robot friend. View some sample illustrations of Me and My Robot here.
The MyJennyABC Book is the third project I have worked on and, as you might have guessed, teaches children the ABCs! This project first began in September 2012 and I went for a more cartoony style here. Take a gander of the MyJennyABC Book so you too can be an ABC Master!
This was the last project I did for MyJennyBook. Hello, World! I’m A New Baby tells the story from the perspective of an infant as it wonders what it is going to be when it grows up, where it will go, and what kind of pets it will have. I attempted to give it more of a pastel/crayola look to make it seem more childlike. This was created in December 2012 and you can feel free to view some sample illustrations of Hello, World! I’m A New Baby!
